How To Fix Christmas Lights ?
I have a triple string of maybe 60 indoor christmas lights with a controller. so there 's basically a string of 20 red lights in series, a string of blue and one of green, though some of the lamp holders have 3 wires. the lights are push-fit and hard to remove without damage.the blue and green strings have quit.i presume one or more lamps in each failed string have blown, or are loose.is there any better strategy than just removing and testing each bulb in turn ?i started a binary search with a meter, but it 's hard to hold the probes in he holders.probably quicker to just do it instead of writing this ...- fixed them, using binary search and swapping bulbs.yes, it would have been much easier to just buy a new string, though maybe not quicker if you factor in time taken to go to the shop and buy them.. also, i don ' 't like tossing stuff in the garbage that i could fix, partly for environmental reasons. In canadian tire last year, we searched all over for christmas lights that did not include orange and blue. i can 't stand those colours (sorry if your opinion differs). the only way this came was in separate strands, so, an entire strand of red lights, or an entire strand of green.do you know any stores in southern ontario (preferably chain stores, so they might be near my area) which stock light strands in yellow, red, and green, with no other colours, on the same strand?i 've checked the zellers in my area. nothin '.thanks.
